The embroidery designs on these chasubles are beautifully sewn with genuine thread – NOT PRINTED! PRIEST’S WHITE CHASUBLE – MESHWORK CHI RHO SYMBOL & ALPHA OMEGA DESIGN. (BEAUTIFULLY EMBROIDERED ON FRONT & BACK). Embroidered designs on our chasubles. Are sewn with genuine. Gold (and or) silver thread. This chasuble features a beautifully embroidered meshwork Chi Rho & Alpha Omega. Panels have gold edging down each side – chasuble. Has gold edging all around. The embroidered design is on both the front and back of the chasuble. Also features a comfortable and easy to wear stand up collar. Comes with a matching lace trimmed inner stole. Approximately 51″ in length by 63″ wide. Quality light-weight blended fabric. In the New Testament Book of Revelation, God says. Eaning that He is the beginning and end of all things. Chi Rho is probably the oldest monogram used for the name of Christ. Being folded, the chasuble will obviously be creased when opened up. The red fabric has a design of fleur de lis crosses, crowns of thorns and grapes. The Chi Rho symbol and Alpha and Omega letters are at the center of the back orphrey of the chasuble. The rest of the needlepoint on the front and back orphreys is in gold, red, white and shades of blue. The Latin words on front and back translate to “My yoke is easy and my burden light”. The chasuble is trimmed in gold and red checkerboard pattern banding. It is lined in a plain paler red fabric. The chasuble measures 43.5 inches from the top of the shoulder to the back lower hem and 27 inches wide in the back. This chasuble is in overall nice condition. The red silk fabric has one 1/2 inch and two 1/4 inch tears on the front in the same area. There is a small area of missing needlepoint stitches on the front of the chasuble. I try very hard to accurately describe my items. Because I deal mostly in vintage collectibles and antiques, most of my items will have signs of previous use or age wear. I will do my best to find a satisfactory resolution. This way I know you have received your item and are satisfied.

Antique Embroidered French Vestment Alpha Omega Green Salesman’s Sample Chasuble. Antique French Design for a Catholic Chasuble. Salesman’s sample from the New York – Lyon firm Leon Kunstenaar, hand woven red and gold embroidered Alpha Omega surrounding a Tau Rho cross on green shantung silk, 19 by 31 inches, in very good condition (the item is wrinkled and creased). On the upper left corner is the original hand written item label. The back is lined in green silk and has the original “Leon Kunstenaar” and “Made in France” labels sewn at the top. It needs to be properly dry-cleaned. From my research, the Leon Kunstenaar firm was in business in New York approximately between 1890 and 1950. Salesman’s samples for vestments are exceedingly scarce. Please see my other auctions for additional salesman’s samples from Leon Kunstenaar.
