The red fabric has a design of fleur de lis crosses, crowns of thorns and grapes. The Chi Rho symbol and Alpha and Omega letters are at the center of the back orphrey of the chasuble. The rest of the needlepoint on the front and back orphreys is in gold, red, white and shades of blue. The Latin words on front and back translate to “My yoke is easy and my burden light”. The chasuble is trimmed in gold and red checkerboard pattern banding. It is lined in a plain paler red fabric. The chasuble measures 43.5 inches from the top of the shoulder to the back lower hem and 27 inches wide in the back. This chasuble is in overall nice condition. The red silk fabric has one 1/2 inch and two 1/4 inch tears on the front in the same area. There is a small area of missing needlepoint stitches on the front of the chasuble. I try very hard to accurately describe my items. Because I deal mostly in vintage collectibles and antiques, most of my items will have signs of previous use or age wear.
