This is a green Catholic fiddleback vestment + original matching pieces: stole, maniple, burse, chalice veil. It probably dates from the mid 20th century. There is a maker’s label in the chasuble indicating it was made in Rome by Tanfani & Bertarelli, Piazza Minerva, Roma. The firm was the Vatican’s official maker from 1905 onward. The set will need to be cleaned. Chasuble : It is dark green with an IHS on the back with gold “rays” extending from the IHS and wide (1.25) vertical gold bands on both front and back. There is wear on the front of the chasuble resulting from placement of the celebrant’s praying hands during the Mass. There are several patch repairs on the upper front of the chasuble. The chasuble has a green lining. It measures 41 inches from top of shoulder to bottom hem. It is 28 inches wide. Stole : This matches the rest of the set. It measures 6 feet, 10.5 inches in length, with metallic gold fringe at each end. There are three gold crossed on the maniple, one at each end and one in the middle. There is also a white collar at the midpoint of the stole that could be replaced from time to time as it became soiled from normal wear. The stole is soiled and will need cleaning. Maniple : This matches the rest of the set. It measures 42 inches, with gold crosses at each end and in the middle. There is a 1 inch circular piece of green cloth missing from one side of the maniple. There is metallic gold fringe at each end. Chalice veil: This matches the rest of the set. It measures 1 foot, 9.5 inches x 1 foot 9.5 inches, has a gold cross in the center and a gold band at the edges. Burse: This matches the rest of the set. The edge of the burse has1.5 bands of gold. The center of the burse has a gold cross with the same 1.5 bands of gold fabric making up the cross. The reverse side of the burse is green cloth.
